The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is mandated by law to develop, administer and implement comprehensive social welfare programs designed to uplift the living conditions and empower the disadvantaged children, youth, women, older persons, persons with disabilities, families in crisis or at-risk and communities needing assistance.

One of the programs dedicated to serving vulnerable sectors is the Assistance for Individuals in Crisis (AICS) implemented by the Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU). In 2020, Field Office III’s CIU received an average of 97.25% rating from 140, 821 (61,628 male and 83, 951 female) clients out of 161,166 served clients who claimed transportation, educational, burial, medical, non-food/food, and other assistance.

On the other hand, Travel Clearance received a 93% rating from 1,038 served clients for 2020.

The management has also considered the suggestion from Travel Clarence’s clients for the improvement of the delivery of its service by providing individual cubicles for social workers to ensure the confidentiality of conversation between clients and provision of television in the waiting area.

Both CIU and Travel Clearance were rated based on their facilities, staff’s professionalism and courtesy, service process order and clarity, service feed, and overall service satisfaction.
