The construction of a two-storey DSWD Region 3 Building under design and build scheme is part of the Department’s ongoing priority infrastructure projects. With a project cost amounting to 18.4 million pesos, it is geared to create additional spaces for office works, storage and other functions.

The project’s specific objectives are as follows:

  1. To provide a standard storage facility for records in order to improve records facility management for systematic control and efficiency
  2. To provide a secure storage facility for newly procured office supplies and other consumables and for unserviceable equipment awaiting disposal
  3. To address the need for additional conference or meeting rooms and comfortable workspaces.

The ground floor of the building will house the Record’s Working and Storage Room, as well as Storage Rooms for COA, PPEs, Office Supplies, Food and Grocery Supplies and Janitorial Supplies.

The second floor will house the new spaces for the Office of Administrative Division Chief, the Procurement Section, Conference Room and Function Hall.

With E.B. Matias Construction and Trading as the Contractor, the project is targeted to be completed on December 7, 2022 and inaugurated on December 16, 2022.

The event was graced by partners from other agencies, NEDA Assistant Regional Director Evelyn Castro and Engr. Odin G. Dunca, CHED’s Eden Capati, DepEd’s Antonio Arquero and the contractors from EB Matias Construction.

“We learned the hard way, we’ve gone through the tough  times but it bloomed into a good result, it is a test of our patience and consistency – of building our integrity in this department. Dumaan man tayo sa hirap ng pag-construct nito but it built our integrity.” Shared by OIC Regional Director & Assistant Regional Director for Operations Venus F. Rebuldela.  ###
