In pursuit of the agency’s commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and attaining Ambisyon Natin 2040 the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) was implemented through the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

EPAHP aims to address key challenges in social and economic inclusive growth that require concerted actions and holistic approaches to mitigate hunger, ensure food security, and health, and reduce poverty in the rural communities.

A Memorandum of Understanding was inked to strengthen the partnership between DSWD and National Government Agencies (NGAs) in Region 3. The NGAs included are: Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Training Institute, National Food authority Central Luzon Office, Philippine Carabao Center, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Department of Education, National Nutrition Council, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Trade and Industry, Cooperative Development Authority, National Irrigation Administration, Commission on Population and Development, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and Landbank of the Philippines.

Aside from this, representatives from other agencies have signed a pledge of commitment to intensify their dedication in pursuit of achieving the objectives of the program.

“I am pleased that we have all gathered together to strengthen our partnership. Without you, our partners, achieving our goal would not be possible. Our convergence efforts will lead us in attaining the Ambisyon Natin 2040 where we envision all Filipino families free from hunger and poverty.” expressed by Regional Director Marites M.
