To further strengthen the commitment and partnership of the Department and Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Regional Directors from Luzon Cluster visited the 7th Infantry Division in Fort Ramon Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija and Northern Luzon Command AFP in Tarlac City, Tarlac. 

The executive session with the Regional Directors from Field Offices CAR (Dir. Arnel Garcia), I (Dir. Marie Angela Gopala, CESO III), II (Dir. Cezario Joel Espejo), and III (Dir. Marites M. Maristela, CESO III), together with Northern Luzon Command (NoLCom) staff led by  Lt. Gen. Ernesto Torres Jr. to solidify the collaboration in delivering prepositioned food and non-food items as response to disaster operations. 

DSWD Region 3 Director Marites M. Maristela reiterated that “The genuine and immediate accommodation of our request to establish satellite storage in Camp Aquino is helpful in the efficient delivery of relief goods is essential for the establishment of disaster-resilient communities.”  

Last year, DSWD Region 3 signed an implementing agreement for the establishment of satellite storage at Camp Servillano Aquino, Tarlac City, and in 2019 for the same purpose of utilization of AFP camps as an extension of storage of relief goods ready for distribution in case the need arises. ###
