The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region III, together with the Regional Federation of Day Care Workers, conducted the 37th Regional Children’s Congress with the theme “Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan.” at SM City Olongapo Central, Olongapo City on November 15, 2019.

Over 2,000 attendees all over Central Luzon participated with the support of Local Social Welfare Development Offices (LSWDOs), Day Care workers and Day Care parents.

The celebration began with the Long Road Day Care Children who performed the invocation prayer, followed by Olongapo Day Care Children on singing the National Anthem.

Alria Lourin Valerio, Day Care Child of Olongapo City recited the “Panatang Makabata” that highlighted the rights of children to live and be protected from any form of violence.

Mr. Jun Pascua, City Social Welfare Development Officer of Olongapo City welcomed the delegates from Central Luzon. “Lahat ng anak natin ay laging panalo, sila ay winners, lahat sila ay bright child at lahat ay nag-excel at nag-rerecite dahil din sa kagalingan ng ating mga Child Development Workers na sinubaybayan at ginabayan para sila ay maging ready sa kanilang formal education,” Pascua said.

DSWD Region III’s Assistant Regional Director for Administration, Maribel M. Blanco, congratulated the attendees and the Local Government Unit of Olongapo City for their support through Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. and Mr. Jun Pascua, CSWDO.

The celebration had a simultaneous showcase of talents that includes singing, dancing, poem reciting and coloring, which is participated by Day Care children ages 3 to 4 years old from Central Luzon.

After the simultaneous showcase of talents, Awarding of Certificates were given to all Day Care children to recognize their talents and were given gifts sponsored by the Local Government Unit.
