The Department of Social Welfare and Development joined the conduct of the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill led by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) l (NSED) with the ceremonial launching at the Air Force City, Clark Airbase, Pampanga on April 21, 2016.

The drill, which was spearheaded by the Office of Civil Defense in partnership with various national and local agencies, was aimed to strengthen the mechanism for national and regional coordination, as well as the interoperability of key players. It also aims to intensify local communities’ earthquake preparedness and increase the commitment of local government units in building safe communities. ###
