The Juvenile Justice and Welfare Consciousness (JJWC) opened Sining Likha, Kwento ng Pag-Asa Poster Making Contest for Filipino children and youth, ages 12-21 years old, currently under the care of Bahay Pag-Asa (BPA), Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY), and other youth care facilities. 

The activity aims to create an avenue for children to get their creative juices in action and express their views on the impact of Juvenile Justice Law in their lives which also intends to showcase and recognize their talents and enhance awareness of the public on the positive outcomes of the law. 

This activity is part of the 11th Juvenile Justice and Welfare Consciousness Week (JJWeek) nationwide celebration on November 20-26, 2022 centered on the theme, “Pagbabago ay Panigurado kung tututukan natin ang Juvenile Justice Law”. 

The event was attended by former Regional Director Margarita V. Sampang as she shared, “May karapatan tayong lahat na nandito ngayon. May kakayanan na dapat ibahagi. May lugar ka. Kung ano man ang pinaguusapan at gagawin, kasalli kayo.” 

The top 7 participants were recognized during the event:

  2. BPARCC  of Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija
  3. TPYRC of City of Malolos, Bulacan
  4. Bahay Pag-Asa of Angeles City
  5. Bahay Pag-Asa of Botolan
  6. Center for Youth of Olongapo City
  7. REHOBOTH 

“Nagpapasalamat kami dahil naging mabuti kayong halimbawa sa inyong mga centers, at sa mga kapwa ninyong kabataan. Magkaroon kayo ng pangarap at magsimula muli amunama ang hamon sa ating buhay.Hindi matatapos ang inyong kwento sa pagkakamali. Lalong hindi dapat panghinaan ng loob at mawalan ng pag-asa.” reiterated by Assistant Regional Director for Administration Maribel M. Blanco. 

DSWD Region 3 continuously ensures that the rights and welfare of children are promoted and protected through its different services and programs.
