Community Volunteer from Quezon, Nueva Ecija presents their output

CABANATUAN CITY — The Department of Social Welfare and Development through Kapit-Bisig Laban Sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) conducted Financial Literacy and Management Training for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Groups with Income Generating Projects (IGPs) and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Coaching Session at Topstar Hotel, Cabanatuan City.

The Financial Literacy and Management Training for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Groups with Income Generating Projects (IGPs) aims to apply and mainstream standard financial books, statements, and reports to best operationalize elements and principles of Community-Driven Development in the aspect of effective and accurate financial management.

The O&M groups are being organized to maintain the sub-projects and ensure longer use.

While the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Coaching Session is conducted to generate a more reliable data-based evaluation. “Kung ang Finance team ay may Municipal Fiduciary Workshop to review the disbursement vouchers, ang M&E naman ay may coaching session para ma-assess natin ang status ng ating database.” (If the Finance team has a Municipal Fiduciary workshop to review the disbursement vouchers, the M&E has a coaching session to assess the status of the database) Nora San Diego, Region Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, DSWD Kalahi-CIDSS Region III said.

“Mahalaga ang database at ang M&E ng isang programa dahil dito malaman ng barangay, municipal, regional at national level kung ano ang nangyayare sa programa.” (The database and the M&E are important to a program, because this is where the barangay, regional and national level get update.) Added by Irene C. Crespo, Assistant Regional Director for Administration and Regional Program Manager of DSWD Kalahi-CIDSS Region III.

The Financial Literacy and Management Training was attended by the seven (7) representatives of O&M groups from different barangays of Gen. Mamerto Natividad, Talugtug, and Quezon, Nueva Ecija and the Coaching session was attended by the Area Coordinators of the three municipalities in Nueva Ecija implementing DSWD Kalahi-CIDSS, Municipal encoders and a representative of the Municipal planning and development office (MPDO).
