DSWD recognized by DILG for violent extremism prevention efforts
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), as the lead agency of the Human Development and Poverty Reduction Cluster under the National Action Plan on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (NAP-PCVE), was recognized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for its valuable contributions to the successes in the implementation of efforts to prevent violent extremism.
During the 1st National PCVE Summit held on November 8-9, 2022 in Quezon City, the DSWD was awarded a plaque of recognition and commendation from the DILG for its continuous support in ensuring the delivery of basic services to address poverty and other social protection concerns.
The summit was conducted to serve as a platform for convergence among PCVE implementers, including DSWD, towards sustaining gains, strengthening impact, and institutionalizing multi-stakeholder efforts on preventing and countering extremism.
The event was attended by National Government Agencies, stakeholders, Civil Society Organizations, and representatives of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao. ###
