ANAO, TARLAC — The department marked the opening and blessing of the first constructed isolation facility located in AMOR Village. The construction of the facility is in line with the mandate of  DSWD Secretary, that all Residential Care Centers and Facilities must set up an isolation facility to cater the staff and residents who needed to undergo quarantine as response to the new normal. 

The isolation facility will have two rooms (1 regular and 1 PWD-friendly) which will be constructed to cope with a new normal set-up to continuously safeguard the health and safety of all residents and staff. The total project cost is 1,175,608.38 pesos with a floor area of 48.38 sq. m. Every room will be equipped with a comfortable bed to sleep in, wooden desk and chair, sofa,water dispenser, and other amenities that will be suited for the safety of all residents and staff.

The event was attended by DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito D. Bautista and Undersecretary for Special Concerns Rene Glen O. Paje together with Regional Director Marites M. Maristela. 

Secretary Bautista extended his gratitude and appreciation to the staff of AMOR Village who tirelessly work, he added “AMOR is the Spanish word for love, kailangan dito ay pagmamahal at kalinga para pangalagaan ang mga special children at special individuals. Bilib ako sa mga house parent dahil nasa inyo ang pagmamahal at yung tiyaga para alagaan sila at sa loob ng AMOR ay mabuhay sila ng normal kaya tinatawag kayo na silent heroes. ”  

The isolation facility is one of the responses of the agency in containing the virus and making the residential care centers and facilities’ residents safe. He also reminded everyone in the audience that the pandemic is still around and encouraged them to get vaccinated and get the booster shot. ###
