19 beneficiaries received Php 380,000 for Livelihood Assistance Grants

DSWD Region III led the Duterte Legacy: Bayanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery in partnership with the Department of Interior Local Government, Philippine Information Agency, Philippine National Police, and other concerned agencies.

Last September 21, at Camp Olivas, San Nicolas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, 19 beneficiaries from Nueva Ecija were awarded with Livelihood Settlement Grants amounting to Php 20,000.00 per individual under the Executive Order 70. Each beneficiary has also received a COVID protection kit and Php 3,000 worth of food assistance from the Crisis Intervention Section.

The agency’s role is to address the root causes of communist armed conflict such as poverty, social inequality, and lack of inclusivity by providing interventions and services catering to their basic needs.

“Sa inyo po, sa DSWD Region III, nagpapasalamat po kami kasi kayo ang unang tumulong sa amin na magkaroon ng kabuhayan. Naramdaman din po namin mula sa inyo yung puso at pagmamahal ng gobyerno sa pamamagitan ng tulong niyo, at ngayon maari na kong makapagsimula ng aking kabuhayan. Maraming salamat po!” Shared by Tatay Bert, 77, one of the beneficiaries from Lupao, Nueva Ecija.

The event was also attended by Assistant Regional Director for Operations Venus F. Rebuldela who also has represented the agencies in coordinative meetings and Promotive Services Division Chief Vilma R. Serrano who arranged the identification and transportation of beneficiaries from Nueva Ecija to Pampanga.
