Model LGU Implementing Day Care Services
Mabalacat City has been relentless in its pursuit of quality pre-school education and provision of Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Programs and Services. Since 2014, continuous innovations were undertaken to ensure that various elements of the ECCD system are given priority and are backed with policies parallel to the programs and services it implements.
The ECCD program of the City Government of Mabalacat has had several transitions that catapulted it into become a program recognized in the national level being award the Panata Ko sa Bayan Award for Model LGU Implementing Day Care Service and Certified as a Model GAD Program of the Philippine Commission on Women. The City Government even after transitioning from one administration to the next continuously ensured that this program evolved through the upgrading of its facilities, providing support to parents and ensuring the development of its personnel.
With the advent of the “tatakMCG” or Tatak Mabalacat City Government mantra, the program ushered in several changes leading towards the realization of the essence of Republic Act 10410 otherwise known as the Early Years Act of 2020. For the year 2020, the City Government of Mabalacat through the leadership of its Mayor, Hon. Crisostomo C. Garbo and the support of the Sangguniang Panlungsod institutionalized the ECCD System by the passing of the Early Childhood Care and Development Ordinance of Mabalacat City. This paved the way for structures, mechanisms and programs for the holistic development of children in early childhood and has also institutionalized the creation of an Office specifically mandated to implement national policies created for this purpose.
Because of the policies of the City Government, the Child Development Service of Mabalacat City under the Early Child Care and Development (ECCD) has undergone major management change.
