The Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY) celebrates its 40th anniversary with the theme, RRCY @40: Service Starts from the Heart.

The celebration was attended by Regional Director Marites M. Maristela, CESO III, who led the recognition of employees and partner-agencies. Entertaining performances were showcased by the center residents and social work students. It was also attended by benefactors, DSWD center heads, and district representatives – people who believe in life’s reformation, restoration, and second chances.

Hand-crafted souvenirs that were personally made by the residents were given to the guests.

Since 1978, RRCY offers a nurturing out-of-home shelter for male Children-In-Conflict-with-the-Law (CICL). Formerly called Juanita Nepomuceno Rehabilitation Center and Regional Youth Rehabilitation Center the regional facility occupies a 5-hectare lot in Magalang, Pampanga.

RRCY aims to rehabilitate young men in Central Luzon, ages above fifteen and below eighteen, who have violated the law committed crimes in Central Luzon.

The residents, who were ordered by the court to undergo rehabilitation, stay in the shelter from six months up to one year. During their stay in the facility they are being provided schooling, livelihood trainings, recreational activities and adequate health and psychological services.
