PAMPANGA, Philippines – The Risk Resiliency Program – Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Disaster Risk Reduction (RRP-CCAM DRR) is a program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) that focuses on empowering communities to become disaster-resilient by combating the effects of climate change.

The program is implementing projects anchored with the climate change action plan of Local Government Units. There is also a provision of temporary employment through cash-for-work (CFW) scheme. After the ten (10) days of CFW, beneficiaries will be compensated equivalent to 70% of the regional daily minimum wage rate.

Disaster response is the overall responsibility of DSWD, but the agency offers programs on disaster prevention and mitigation as well. Thus achieving the country’s overall Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) vision of “Safer, adaptive and disaster-resilient Filipino communities towards sustainable development”

This September 4-5, DSWD officials will grace the pay-out of CFW for RRP-CCAM DRR. 1,282 beneficiaries from the Municipality of Bustos and City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan will receive their CFW compensation this week.
