A team divides the task and multiplies the success. The coming together of the DPEO Bulacan staff is essential part of the its accomplishments.  DPEO Bulacan and partner stakeholders work with optimum cooperation. Each member are encouraged to pitch their ideas and suggestions. This gave birth to notable good practices of the office.

Caravan of Services

A National Best Convergence Initiatives entry initiated by the MAT and LGU of Sta. Maria. Partner stakeholders, both private and public sectors, are invited to deliver services like free medical check-ups, medicines, minor operations, grooming, dental services, job fairs and information desks. The success of the project influenced other cities/municipalities, like Malolos, Calumpit,  Plaridel, Baliwag (High FVE sa Barangay) and DRT (Kalinga sa Barangay) to replicate and to modify the project according to the needs of their citizenry.

Pera Sa Basura Project

Developed by the MAT and Pantawid beneficiaries of Pulilan. The project aims to reduce waste and intensify recycling, and to generate funds for the Pantawid Pamilya Parent Leaders. The project was also a great help in practicing proper garbage disposal and reducing the flood incidents in the municipality. The impact of the project has influenced the non-Pantawid residents of Pulilan and other sectors to practice the project as well. It was being recognized as the 2016 Regional Best Practice and is now being adopted by different cities/municipalities in Bulacan.

Guintong Butil Livelihood from Trash

In relation to the waste segregation and recycling, making new marketable items made from recycled materials is the goal of the project in Guiguinto, Bulacan. Pantwid Pamilya Parents Leaders were taught how to create items from used materials they can sell. In turn, these Parent Leaders imparted the knowledge and skills they gained to their co-Pantawid beneficiaries.

Women Stewards of Calumpit

An organized Gender Based Violence Watch Group. The formulation of the group was initiated by the MAT with the efforts of Pantawid Pamilya Parent Leaders of Calumpit to come up with an organization that would cater the needs and provide appropriate intervention to victims especially the women and children during and after emergencies, calamities, disasters and other unpleasant incidents. The GBV watch group was a great help in solving the SWDI gaps in relation to family awareness. With this initiative, women empowerment and leadership among the Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries are very evident.

Parent Leaders Allowance

In the City of San Jose Del Monte, 520 Parent Leaders were given P500 monthly incentives by the City Government thru the City Ordinance No. 2016-67-01. This is in recognition of their relentless efforts and sacrifices as the associates of the City Links in maintaining the interest of co-Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries in the program especially in Family Development Sessions. The incentives are intended for the transportation fares, cellphone loads, and other supplies needed for them to lead their groups. The parent leaders use their incentives to help their members when in need, as well. The project was also replicated by other municipalities outside the province.

Replication and Modification of Social Pension and Sustainable Livelihood Program

Through the SB Resolution No. 2016 – 01 “adoption of Republic Act 9994 or also known as the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010” and SB Resolution No. 2016 – 017 “replication of the Sustainable Livelihood Program of DSWD”, the LGU and MAT of DRT are able to intensify the impact of these programs to their people. Regardless of the economic status of the potential beneficiaries and to keep the transparency of the LGU to all the DRTeños, most of their programs and services are open to everyone but prioritizing Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries, those who need immediate intervention and action, and those who are in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

Balagtas Family Savers’ Club Project

In the Municipality of Balagtas, Pantawid families have opened their own bank account in a cooperative in the municipality. Since Pantawid Pamilya is not permanent, the MAT emphasizes the importance of keeping a savings account which may help them in times of financial need. As the result of the project, the 823 families who were identified through SWDI who do not have access to social insurance are already addressed through this project.

We can just work according to our job contract, but few, notable public servants go above and beyond to what is expected from them.
