Baliuag, Bulacan – On 21 July 2018, Saturday, DSWD Field Office III and the Regional Council for Disability Affairs (RCDA), through the humble participation of Regional Director and RCDA Chairperson – Dir. Gemma Borja-Gabuya, graced the Provincial Government of Bulacan’s 40th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week Celebration at SM Baliuag.

Theme: “Kakayahan at Kasanayan para sa Kabuhayan Tungo sa Kaunlaran”. The event was able to convene the province’s LGUs key delegates and representatives from different Disability People’s Organizations (DPOs).

In her discourse, RD Gabuya affirmed several milestones brought about by the commitment, initiatives and efforts of the stakeholders at the local level, and proudly shared the RCDA’s Roadmap

Plan for 2018-2019. She further emphasized the importance and functions of PDAOs (RA 10070) as the one-stop shop me chanism of PWDs in availing the government’s programs and services, thus, lobbied for its actualization in every city (highly-urbanized and component) and municipalities with 3rd class status and up.

Encapsulating her premises, she asserted for the essential participation of each member of the PWD sector in the materialization of crafted plans as well as the sustainability of milestones ignited in empowering persons with disabilities.

Other guests include Ms. Carmen Zubiaga, NCDA’s OIC Director and Ms. Feliza Esguerra, PTL of DPEO Bulacan.
