One hundred thousand pesos was handed to the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office III (DSWD FO III) on February 24 as donation to its Reception and Study and Reception Center (RSCC) in Lubao, Pampanga. The donation came from Cosmetique Asia Corporation, makers of Silka papaya soaps and lotions.

The donation was part of the winning prize of Alexandra Faith Garcia as Ms. Silka Philippines 2013. Before the Ms. Silka pageant last year, Garcia identified RSCC as her chosen charity.

Last Saturday, after the Road Show of Sec. Corazon Juliano-Soliman in the region, she expressed her gratitude to the owners of Cosmetique Asia Corporation for their donation.

Meanwhile, during the turn-over ceremony, held at the grounds of DSWD FO III, Assistant Regional Director Maura H. dela Rosa said that it was the first time for the field office to be visited by a beauty queen, and for a noble purpose. She also welcomed the executives of Cosmetique Asia Corporation headed by its Chief Financial Officer Juanita Co, and its distributors to the regional office.

Regional Director Adelina S. Apostol said, ”the donation will go a long way for the agency’s efforts of bringing a brighter future for the abused, neglected and abandoned children of RSCC.” She thanked Garcia and Cosmetique Asia for the good deed. She also commended Cosmetique Asia for demonstrating Corporate Social Responsibility and for selecting RSCC as its beneficiary.

After the turn-over ceremony, the officials of Cosmetique Asia and Garcia went to visit RSCC.They met with the staff and had the chance to know the children better. They were briefed on the stories housed in every cottage and on the history of the center.
